Knowing there are two sides to every coin has as much insight in its bloodstream as knowing trees are taller than people. So please know the observation I’m about to share with you is free of dazzling insight and has no relationship with coinage.
Now, “memory nuggets” are those moments when a lost memory steps into the open and makes your day. I’ll give you an example. Last week I opened the freezer door and was dazzled by a memory nugget. I’d forgotten I had half-a-gallon of my favorite ice cream! I don’t think winning the lottery could have made my jump any higher when I jumped for joy.
I had a similar jump for joy a week earlier when I remembered I had more lasagna in the refrigerator. A friend of mine experienced a memory nugget last week when he learned he had $200 more in his account than he remembered.
As humble a moment as experiencing a memory nugget might be, it’s a moment of joy and happiness. It proves that life offers more than one kind of gold.
